Dotty For You Thanks

I've been keeping some very special cards under wraps (since Dec) for some very special friends, that I will be seeing in about 70 days or so. This card was inspired by those cards.....but, shhhhhhhh I want those cards to be a surprise.

These cards were inspired by a card made by another consultant.....I think it was Lisa Stenz, but my memory often fails me. I cut the flower image from Kraft cardstock and mounted it on foam squares on some Sorbet cardstock. I stamped the Sorbet cardstock with Diverse Backgrounds in Grey Wool ink, to cover the space where the flower was cut.

I cut another flower a 1/2" smaller from Dotty For You paper, to add to the void. The centre is a 3/4" flower from Kraft cardstock stamped with Diverse Backgrounds. It has a Sunset brad holding them all together. I also added Stardust Glitz around the cut flower and the flower void.

The sentiment is stamped in Grey Wool ink from the, Thank You set. The smaller circle is stamped in Sunset from the Love Clusters set.

All supplies are Close To My Heart.
Stamps: Love Clusters; Diverse Backgrounds; Thank You
Paper: Dotty For You
Cardstock: Colonial White; Kraft; Sorbet

Humble Artist's Swap

I created this card for my Humble Artist's Swap due Feb 10, 2012.

Here are the guidelines each member had to follow:

-Use Kraft Paper or borders
-Must use at least 3 different stamped images
-Must have at least 6 layers (please refer to my example previously sent)
-Use Sonoma; Typeset; Elemental or Roxie patterned paper
-Must have at least 2 embellishments
-Must have a shape from Art Philosophy
-Card must be at least 4 ¼ x 5 1/2

I started with last year's Elemental and Typset patterned paper for behind my birdie from the, A Rainbow stamp set. The flourish is from retired set,You and Me, stamped in Twilight on Kraft cardstock. I added a Sweet Leaf mat to the Kraft cardstock and Cocoa mats to the patterned paper.

The little birdie was inked up in Sweet Leaf ink, then I rolled the top of the bird in Twilight and the branch stem in Cocoa ink. I edged the Art Philosophy shape with Twilight ink and added a Sweet Leaf mat.

I added Colonial White grosgrain ribbon; a Twilight button and White hemp. You can also see the Stardust Glitz I used on the flourishes and I put some on the knot of the hemp, also.

The layer count should always start with a top layer and all of the countable layers should be directly in contact with each other. This card is pretty clear to see and count the 8 layers of paper.

All supplies are Close To My Heart.
Stamps: A Rainbow; You and Me
Patterned Paper: Elemental; Typeset
Cardstock: Sweet Leaf; Kraft; Cocoa; Colonial White
Ink: Sweet Leaf; Twilight; Cocoa

Mojo Monday almost 2 weeks late!

Here is my card for last week's Mojo Monday sketch.......again, I did not get the picture taken or posted on time.

I wiped the dust off of one of my 2011 favourite stamp sets...Paper Lantern. I had so much fun with this stamp set last year, I knew it fit the sketch perfectly, because I made a card similar for a Humble Artist's Swap.

I stamped with Spot On Backgrounds on Lagoon cardstock in coordinating ink. I stamped each of the lanterns in coordinating ink on paper from Dotty For You. I cut each lantern out and edged them with Grey Wool ink, then added Stardust Glitz to some of the dots.

I stamped everything else with Grey Wool ink and added a Grey Wool mat to the lanterns and a Grey Flannel one to the sentiment. Finally, I added a Lagoon button and some Grey Wool Baker's Twine.

All supplies are Close To My Heart.
Patterned paper: Dotty For You

The elephant is stamped in Smoothie and the outline shape in Cocoa, as well as, the sentiment. The ribbon is Chocolate grosgrain and the cardstock is retired Crystal Blue textured.

The Best Things

I love flourishes and this stamp set, The Best Things, seemed to need some Pacifica ink. So I pulled out some of my retired Magnifique paper and put this simple card together.

I started with Kraft cardstock on a Colonial White base. The sentiment is stamped on Vanilla Creme.....why I didn't use Colonial White is well....beyond me! All ink is Pacifica except for Cocoa that I edged the sentiment shape with. I added Stardust Glitz and some wooden buttons.

Is Spring here yet?

Here in Victoria, the daffodils; crocus; and cherry blossoms are all out in full bloom. I see my tulips are up and the sun is out.....but then.....here comes the wind....I guess we'll be in for pink snow very soon if this keeps up!

I LOVE this stamp set, Springtime, more than any spring stamp.....EVER! Living on the wet coast makes this an all year 'round type of stamp set. Sadly it is retired now....but I can still use it with new Florentine paper.

I stamped the Kraft background with Diverse Backgrounds in Twilight ink. I used Twilight ink again with, The Best Things on the Florentine paper. I added a border from this stunning paper pack, also.

The boots were stamped in Crystal Blue; Sweet Leaf; and Twilight. The umbrella is stamped in Sweet Leaf. To finish this card off, I added dots of Liquid Glass all over to appear as rain drops. It doesn't show very well in the picture, but in person there is no mistaking the rain.
