Summer in Paris.....

I hope that title got your attention.....I'm sure we all wish to spend a summer in Paris. In the meantime, this card made me think of what it might be like to be there.

Happy Valentine's with La Belle Vie

For my January Project Club, we used the La Belle Vie Workshop on the Go kit along with the January Stamp of the Month, Happy Valentine's. This is one of three cards, the gals made 4 of.

We stamped La Belle Vie Mauve cardstock with the large rose image from Jan's SOTM, Happy Valentine's. We used Smokey Plum ink for the background; inking all edges and for the sentiment. The scalloped borders are patterned paper from La Belle Vie. There is another mat of La Belle Vie pink; then Colonial White for the sentiment. We stamped the smaller stemmed rose in second generation, prior to stamping the sentiment. We added sparkles to finish the card off.

Feathers are flying everywhere!

I LOVE BIRDS! I love to hear them sing; I love to watch them fly; I love to photograph them; and I especially LOVE to stamp with their likeness. This card is another sneak peek at a new stamp set in CTMH's Spring/Summer Idea Book.....live Feb 1st.

I was inspired by another CTMH consultant for this card. I used a Colonial White base and stamping layer. I matted it with Sweet Leaf cardstock. I edged and stamped the birds from. Hello Tweety, with Lagoon ink. The sentiment is stammped in Pear ink and is from, April SOTM: My Sunshine. I finished off this simple card with Turquoise Sparkles.

Some "COPY CAT" creations!

When I saw the card Lisa Stenz created with this layout ......I couldn't help myself but to lift it. Here are the versions I created and had my card club create, using Whooo's Your Valentine.

This card sent me over the moon........Lisa created it on Kraft cardstock with snowflakes. Now I did create several of that version, but then thought it would look great with colours. These were made with Sweet Leaf and Blush cardstock. The scalloped circle is from Colonial White cardstock.

The image random stamped on the card base, in coordinating ink, is from Simple Memories. The sentiments are stamped with Chocolate ink. The branch the sweet owl is sitting on is from the Pear & Partridge WOTG stamp set.

I added Stardust Glitz to the centres of each doily. I have also used a Souffle pen to fill in the eyes of the cut owls, then dotted the pupils with a Cocoa marker and filled in her beak with a Creme Brulee marker.

Clementine sings sweetly!

I needed some sweet paper to sing along with my felt birdie....so Clementine was perfect!

I stamped with my Whooo's Your Valentine stamp set for the sentiment and the tiny hearts on the patterned paper. The sentiment is stamped with Saddle and the hearts with Sorbet. I added Natural Hemp and some delicious brown Sparkles. I used an Antique Gold brad for the birdie's eye.

This sweet bird was inked with Saddle ink and cut with my Fiskars Fuse. This is some Eco-Felt I purchased in the summer.

And now for something completely different.....

As a Christmas present to myself, I purchased a Fiskars Fuse and two dies to go with it. I am very smitten with my little birdie and what I can do with her.

I started with some Clementine patterned paper on a Saddle mat. This is on a Colonial White base, as is the stamped sentiment. The border is Sorbet cardstock with some Natural Hemp tied around it. I added a pattern to the sentiment shape with stamp set Live Life, in Creme Brulee ink. The sentiment is stamped in Sorbet.

Now to my sweet bird. The Fuse dies are multipurpose. You can cut the shape; or there are two inserts you can cut; emboss; and stamp with. So I added this insert to the bird shape and inked it with Saddle ink. I ran it through the Fuse and it cut, inked and embossed this bird, from Kraft cardstock. I added an Antiqued Gold Brad for her eye.

LOVE....is there anything better?

Here is another card using Whooo's Your Valentine Kit. I piled on the elements with this one.

I started with a Colonial White Base then added a Black mat. I random stamped both Ruby and Blush cardstock with sentiments from this set, in coordinating inks. I had a left over embossed strip from another card....so I added it!

For Valentine's 2012 I made heart garland. This crimped heart is Smoothie cardstock tied up with Baker's Twine. I stamped the Colonial White shape with second generation Ruby, then added the sentiment in Black. Finally, I finished this card off with a giant strip of Glitter cardstock!

I'm also going to submit this one for this week's Mojo Monday sketch.

Okay, I am finished creating and posting Christmas themed cards. I've been enjoying my Whooo's Your Valentine kit. Here is the second card I made using the kit and one of my favourites!

I stamped some Slate cardstock with the chevron image, in Slate ink. I tied them up with some Cranberry Baker's Twine. Love before Valentine's

Just before Christmas, another co-worker asked me to make a special card for him to give to his girlfriend. He had asked me to include a cow if I could, but I could not find a pleasing image. Knowing how smitten he is, I thought this image was perfect!

I started with Ruby cardstock, then added patterned paper and zip strips from Pear & Partridge. I stamped second generation  Cocoa , with a retired snowflake flourish image, behind the silhouettes. The silhouettes, from a retired set, are stamped in Cocoa. The sentiment is stamped in Ruby from the Pear and Partridge Workshop On The Go kit.

I used a Rub On image on the right edge of the P &P paper next to the zip strips. I added a star stamped with a retired Christmas set from 2011. I topped that with some Burlap Ribbon and a Red button tied with Colonial White Waxy Flax.

Stay tuned for all of the Whooo's Your Valentine cards I will begin to post tomorrow.
