Oodles of Doodles

I just love the name of this stamp set.....Oodles of Doodles. I wasn't particularly thrilled with the set when I first saw it, but saw some great artwork using it and decided I should have it.
Our wonderful Skylark paper pack has some amazing patterns that can be cut up to use for cards. One piece of 12 x 12 paper can create 6 unique scenes on a card. I love birds, so chose these ones for a simple "Thank you" card.

I started with a Lagoon mat and stamped the banner with coordinating ink. The sentiment is stamped with Black ink. I popped the banner, cut with Art Philosophy, up on foam squares for more dimension. I also edged everything with Desert Sand ink. I added some Aqua Dots and called it done.

P.S. This is also the last day to take advantage of our wonderful FREE Cricut cartridge with the purchase of your Consultant kit for just $99. Click on my web link to sign up today!

Owls are a FAVOURITE!

Here are 2 more of the cards made at my April Embossing & Die Cutting Class. See what you missed......
I am using my FABULOUS owl dies from, Serendipity Stamps, for these cards. I have cut the detailed owl from Black cardstock and the solid outline from, Laughing Lola. The Lagoon cardstock was embossed with my wood folder, then inked in coordinating ink. We cut a piece of Burlap ribbon in half and adhered it on a Black cardstock border, underneath the owl. The sweet owl got some Sparkles for eyes.
The sentiment is from a retired set, stamped with Lagoon ink on White Daisy cardstock. We finished the card off with some Turquoise Shimmer Trim.

These two cards were made at my April Embossing & Die Cutting class.
Both started with patterned paper from Balloon Ride, then a Sunset cardstock mat. We stamped with April's Stamp of the Month, Balloon Talk images, with Lagoon and/or Sunset ink on White Daisy cardstock. Then we used our Quatrefoil embossing folder for some added interest.
We used Sunset and either Lagoon or Twilight ink to stamp the sentiment on a coordinating shape, cut with Artiste. We tied it all up with some Sunset Baker's Twine.

An OWL of a Challenge!

Well, I was cruising on Pinterest one day and say this amazing Owl image. After a few clicks I found this amazing die from Serendipity Stamps. They are having a challenge called, Shades of Gray, so I thought I would enter.
I started with a White Daisy card base, then added Slate cardstock and some patterned paper from retired, For Always. I used White Daisy pigment ink on the edges of a shape cut with Art Philosophy. I cut the shape in half and used a piece on either side of the border. The border is Whisper cardstock matted with White Daisy. I stamped with coordinating ink, with an image from Distressed Backgrounds, on the Whisper cardstock.

This amazing Owl die from Serendipity Stamps, was cut from Slate cardstock. There is also a die of just the Owl shape and I cut it from retired For Always paper, also. The leaves and sentiment shape are cut from Artiste, in Black and White Daisy cardstock. The sentiment was a freebie included in my die order from Serendipity Stamps. Finally, I added Clear Sparkles for the Owl's eyes and Black ones to the card.

Hoppy Birthday!

I hope you had a wonderful Easter long weekend. I enjoyed 4 days at home with my husband and 3 teens.....yes, I did enjoy the company of teenagers! Yesterday was planting and yard work day. I planted some Spearmint; 3 types of Basil seeds; 2 types of Strawberries; Cilantro; and did some weeding. Sheesh, was my body sore afterwards! Today I will plant my Lacinato Kale; more Strawberries; and some flowers for my front step.
I've got lots of family and friend's birthdays coming up, so I thought it was time to ink this sweet Kangaroo from of our NEW Australia & New Zealand stamp set, Hoppy Birthday. I started with some Blush cardstock and used my embossing folder from, Dear Lizzy. Then I inked the entire thing with Ruby ink.

The banner and sentiment are stamped with Cotton Candy ink. The kangaroo is coloured with our Alcohol Blush; Cotton Candy; Creme Brulee and Whisper markers. I also embossed the White banner the kangaroo is on, with our Quatrefoil embossing folder.

I was tickled to see someone finally created an embossing folder depicting cameras. This folder is from Amy Tangerine.

For this second card, I embossed Black cardstock, then sanded to expose the cameras in our white core. I added Black & Turquoise Shimmer Trim and stamped with another retired stamp set.
This card used the inked embossing folder again. Embellishments are Black Tulle; Striped Ribbon; and Epoxy Bubbles.

Girls Rock and Mother's Day

I have started my Mother's Day preparations. That means I will be selling at 2 venues prior to Mother's Day and I thought I may as well have lots of cards to sell. This is the first design I created after making my card in a box, with the  Girls Rock stamp set.
A Mom can have a bouquet of flowers on her card, too. I used Ivy Lane patterned paper with Hollyhock cardstock above and Blush below. All of the flowers and leaves are stamped with images from Girls Rock. I used Blush; Sunset; and Hollyhock ink for the flowers on White Daisy cardstock. The leaves are cut from and stamped in Sweet Leaf.
The sentiments are stamped from, Say It In Style on Blush and Sunset cardstock. The stitching is all stamped in Chocolate ink from a retired stamp set. I also used Stardust Glitz in the middles of all flowers. The large flower has Glitz in the outer spaces, too.

Lilies and Laughing Lola

I LOVE nature! For many years, since moving to Victoria, British Columbia, I have become fascinated with flowers. It is hard not to when they are in bloom almost 12 months of the year. These dies have got me going petal crazy!
I started with a My Creations Kraft Container and covered it with paper from Laughing Lola. I put Black Shimmer Trim around the bottom, but it isn't showing very sparkly.

The beautiful lilies are made from Susan Tierney-Cockburn dies, from Sizzix. I used the Mini Lily die set and fashioned these after Saskatchewan's provincial flower. I grew up calling them, "Prairie Lilies", but they are more commonly known as Tiger Lilies.
I cut them from retired Sunflower cardstock, then the leaves from retired Garden Green. I put the dots on with a Ruby alcohol marker and underneath that, the base of each petal is coloured with a Sorbet alcohol marker. I used Susan's tool kit to shape both petals and leaves.

Still a Happy Place

I am posting these cards a wee bit late......yet they still take me to my Happy Place.
This is March's now unavailable Stamp of the Month. I stamped her with Memento Black ink and coloured her in with our Cotton Candy and Sunset markers. She fit nicely with Lollydoodle paper and I used our Dots embossing folder and another one, with smaller dots, for the backgrounds in Whisper and Slate.
I added Flamingo Dots to the flower at her top and Stardust Glitz to the centre heart, flower and leaves in her middle. One got Slate Polka Dot Washi Tape and Silver Shimmer Trim. The other got retired Sorbet Stitched Ribbon with Flamingo Dots.

Spring flowers are in bloom!

I cut the flowers with Cotton Candy and Sunet cardstock, along with Lollydoodle patterned paper. The card and sentiement shape are from White Daisy. I stamped the sentiment in Cotton Candy, from retired, Me to You. I added some Grey Wool Baker's Twine and Stardust Glitz to the centres of each flower.

Birthday Cupcake

It seems odd to me that I have 3 amazing Close to My Heart Cricut cartridges, yet some cuts I have never used! Not sure why I would not cut a shape, that I also have a coordinating stamp for....DUH! Check out this sweet cupcake from Artiste.
I fulfilled 2 of my needs with this card.....first, the need to use up scraps....second, use a cut I have never used before. All of the stamped images are from a stamp set that comes with our amazing Artiste Cricut cartridge. This sweet cupcake cuts the entire shape, then the icing separate, so you can change up the colour or icing as it were.

I used some of my favourite patterned paper from both retired Claire and Clementine. I stamped and cut the cupcake and icing in coordinating Chocolate and Cotton Candy cardstock and ink. The mats are Creme Brulee and Chocolate cardstock. I coloured in the flame with my Creme Brulee marker and added Stardust Glitz as sprinkles.

Speaking of our wonderful Cricut cartridges. In the month of April, you can get one FREE, when you join Close To My Heart and purchase your consultant kit. Click on my website link to sign up today!
