Spring Snow!?

Yes, I said Spring Snow.........pink snow, that is! Thousands and thousands of cherry blossoms are falling to the ground as I type this.......our only snow for Winter 2015-2016. We only had pink snow last Winter, also. I love the white, cold, fluffy stuff.....I like how it sounds when you walk on it; I like how it tastes; and I love how you can wad it up and throw it at someone! Pink snow, while pretty, just doesn't have the same options!
Okay, now on with the card.
This is the last card created for my Springtime Wishes class. I started with Sorbet cardstock and added the lovely Whisper arrow patterned paper. I love this paper......and another patterned paper, both from Charlotte. I added Coral Shimmer Trim along with drawing a border with my Black Journaling Pen.

I stamped the circles in Black ink several times, from a favourite set, Doodled Designs. The sentiment is from Springtime Wishes, as are the flowers. I used my watercolour brush to colour both flower and leaves with Sorbet; Pixie; Pear and Fern inks. I added a wee bit of  Silver Glitz to the centre of the flower.

A Spring Happy Birthday

Here is another card created for my recent Springtime Wishes card class. For this card, I created more of a bouquet style of flower grouping.
This card started with a Slate cardstock mat, then I added this gorgeous patterned paper from Charlotte. Then I created a border using Sorbet cardstock; 2 different pieces of Charlotte patterned paper; and some Slate cardstock.

For the flowers and leaves, I used my waterbrush again to colour them in with Pixie; Sorbet; Pear; Fern; and Champagne ink. I even added some Alcohol marker to the centre of the largest flower. After arranging and tucking everything in, I added Gold Sequins to the centre of the 2 flowers.

I stamped the sentiment from, Your Own Kind of Wonderful, then added some White with Gold Ribbon. Finally, I added a line around it all with my Black Journaling pen.

Springtime Wishes

I recently created a card class using NEW Springtime Wishes stamp and die set. Here is one of the 4 designs in the card set.
I wanted to do something a little different with this set to show its versatility. I love leaves, so this design was fairly easy to come up with, with my rash of background stamping. I simply covered White Daisy cardstock with this stamped leaf. I used our 2" scallop punch, then used my Black Journaling pen to add the drawing around the outside of the circle.

I used Fern and Pear inks with my waterbrush, to colour in a select number and pattern of the leaves. Then on a scrap piece of White Daisy, I stamped and coloured another 4 leaves. Once I die cut the leaves, I popped them up over top of leaves on the background for more interest.

Once I stuck the stamped piece to Sorbet cardstock, I stamped the sentiment through the scalloped window. I added another outline with my Black Journaling pen, then some Coral Sequins.

Make your own background.

I love to make my own backgrounds for cards, so Simon's Monday Challenge fit perfect with this card.
I started with Lagoon ink and stamped these sweet cascading hearts, from Charming Cascades. Then I inked the same image up with Sweet Leaf, then Glacier ink and stamped again, just moving the image over slightly from where the previous was stamped. I stamped the monkey with Peacock ink from February's Balloon Animals set, along with the sentiment in Black. I used my Black journaling pen to add a frame, then matted the entire piece with Sweet Leaf and Peacock cardstock.

Ink: Lagoon; Glacier; Sweet Leaf; Peacock; Black

Sunshine Birdies

I am fascinated with birds, so to add a cute whimsical bird stamp set to my collection was a must. I seem to be on a kick of random stamping to create my own paper, then adding just bits of colour to help the images sing! (Did you see what I did there......."help the images sing".....cause they're birdies.....!)
I stamped on White Daisy cardstock with Memento Black ink. I used my waterbrush with Thistle; Pixie; Canary; Crystal Blue; and Pear inks to add a bit of colour. I stamped the sentiment from, Sending Love, in Black ink, then added this zip strip from Penelope. I coloured some sequins with a Shin Han Alcohol marker, then added some lines with my Black Journaling pen, to finish this card.

Spring Flowers!

Today is a wonderful sunny day with so much pink about town, it is almost blinding! What on earth is the all of the blinding pink from you ask.....well from all of the cherry blossom trees that are in full bloom! We even had a wee bit of pink snow yesterday, as a bit of a wind whipped up mid afternoon. I'll bet you're jealous.........!
With that mean opening, I thought I would share a card with some pink flowers. I used the sweet set, Friend in Me and coloured the flowers in with a waterbrush. I used Pixie and Cotton Candy inks. I double stamped the sentiment with Black ink then matted the shape with Slate cardstock. The fantastic arrow paper is from Charlotte, as is the patterned border. I added NEW White & Gold Ribbon and a Black mat to finish the card.

Happy in Love!

While I was on a kick of making Valentine's cards, I made this card using, Woodland Romance.

I used a mat and border of Eggplant cardstock and added Silver Foil Tape and some Slate Baker's Twine. I cut the tag with Art Philosophy, then stamped the sentiment with Black ink. I stamped then fussy cut another flower from a scrap piece of the same Sangria patterned paper, then used a Yellow Sakura Souffle pen.
